FIDgate heads to Energyear Argentina 2026 as storage and renewable investment accelerate

Argentina's energy transition is entering an important new phase.

On 16 and 17 September, more than 600 energy professionals will meet at the Faena Art Center in Buenos Aires for Energyear Argentina 2026.

The event will bring together developers, investors, technology providers and public-sector representatives. Discussions will cover solar, wind, BESS, transmission, regulation and new investment opportunities.

For FIDgate, the timing is particularly relevant.

Storage is moving from opportunity to real projects

Battery storage will be one of the central topics at this year's event.

Argentina's recent AlmaSADI process attracted 235 proposals from 37 companies. Together, they represented more than 8.3 GW of proposed battery capacity against an initial target of 700 MW.

The government ultimately awarded 700.5 MW of BESS projects, representing an estimated USD 700 million in private investment.

The scale of interest sends a clear signal. Storage is becoming an important part of Argentina's electricity system and its future investment pipeline.

It also creates a more complex development environment.

Developers increasingly need to understand how solar, wind and storage interact with grid constraints, market revenues, equipment choices and project financing.

These decisions cannot always be evaluated independently.
